FAQ

What should I pack?
Our cabins and luxury tents have beds, linens, pillows, towels, and washcloths. Central heating and air conditioning are standard in our cabins, and our luxury tents come with heated blankets. We recommend packing layers of clothing as the temperature can vary throughout the year. For campsites and RV guests, remember to bring your towels and washcloths.

What should I NOT pack?
Drugs, firearms, weapons, fireworks, and natural wood are not permitted anywhere on site at Saddle Mountain.

When is check-in for my Cabin/Bunkhouse/Luxury Tent?
The check-in time for the Cabin, Bunkhouse, or Luxury Tent is 3:00 PM. Early check-in is not available. If you arrive early, you can explore nearby places such as Downtown Carmel, Carmel Beach, Cannery Row, and The Wharf to pass the time and discover the wonderful area.
When is check-in for an RV, Drive-in, Walk-in, or Partial Hookups Site?
Check-in time for RV/ Drive-in/ Walk-in/ or Partial Hookups site is at 1 PM. Early check-in is not available. If you arrive early, you can explore nearby places such as Downtown Carmel, Carmel Beach, Cannery Row, and The Wharf to pass the time and discover the wonderful area.

What time is check out for my Drive-In/Walk-In/RV site?
Check-out time for drive-in, walk-in, and RV sites is at 12 PM. Late check-out is not permitted due to our maintenance schedule and to ensure that guests are able to leave the property before our larger vehicles arrive and depart. A late check-out fee will be applied if you do not check out on time.

What time is check-out for the Cabin, Bunkhouse, or Luxury Tent?
Check-out time for the Cabin/BunkHouse/Luxury Tent is 10 AM. We do not permit late check-outs due to our cleaning schedule. A late check-out fee will be applied if you do not check out on time.

What should I do if I need a late check-in?
Our office is open Monday to Wednesday from 9 am to 7:30 pm, and Thursday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm. If guests arrive after regular business hours, their check-in packet and parking pass will be in the late check-in box at the office. If additional assistance is needed after hours, the after-hours phone number is provided on the check-in packet, and staff is available in case of an emergency.

Can I get a late checkout?
We do not offer late checkouts. Our team requires sufficient time to prepare and clean for the next guests. In the event of an unapproved late checkout, a late checkout fee will be applied.

Can I pick my favorite site when making a reservation?

Upon your arrival, final site assignments will be made, and all reservations are subject to reallocation, with the exception of cabins and premium sites. We will do our best to accommodate requests for ideal sites. If you want to reserve a specific site, we offer a "Site Guarantee" option for $15/day per site. This option locks in and guarantees your site for your stay."Site Guarantee" is non-refundable and must be paid in full upon booking. Please note that "Site Guarantee" may not always be available due to date, site, or availability restrictions.

Are Pets Allowed?


RV, Walk-in, Drive-in, and Partial Hookup sites are pet-friendly for cats and dogs that weigh up to 75 pounds and have a pet fee of $15 per pet/per night. Pets are excluded from the pool area and the children's playground. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets at all times. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.

 

Luxury Tents

Small pets only: under 30 lbs - pet fee of $50 per pet/per night, maximum of 2 pets. Pets must be fully trained and comply with local legislation requirements. Pets must not be left unattended and are not permitted in the pool area or children's playground. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets at all times. Any disturbances caused by pets, such as excessive barking, must be addressed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced. Pets are not allowed to sleep in the beds, as an additional $100 cleaning fee will be processed. Guests are responsible for any property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet's behavior. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.

 

Cabins

What are the pool hours?

The pool is open exclusively to Saddle Mountain guests from 10 am to 9 pm.

 

Can I bring an additional vehicle?

Additional vehicles can be added to the reservation during your initial booking, at check-in, or anytime during the guest's stay at Saddle Mountain. Additional vehicles are permitted to park in our overflow parking lots ONLY. The additional vehicle fee is $30 per vehicle.

 

Can I shorten my stay upon arrival? Can I get reimbursed for an early checkout?

You can shorten your stay upon arrival or leave before your scheduled checkout date; however, we do not process refunds or discounts for early checkouts that fall outside our cancellation or rescheduling policy period.

 

What is your visitors policy?

All visitors are welcome at Saddle Mountain. It is the responsibility of the guest who made the reservation to inform the office staff about any additional guests. Fees for visitors are $15 per adult, $10 per youth, and $5 per child, along with a standard $30 fee for each additional vehicle.

 

Is there a laundromat on site?

If you're in need of a laundromat, there is one conveniently situated less than 2 miles away at the Mid Valley Shopping Center. Is there internet / WIFI at Saddle Mountain? Complimentary WIFI internet access is available on the premises. However, internet speed may decrease during peak hours due to increased activity. The best place to access our free WIFI service is on the WIFI deck near the office. Our WIFI network is open and does not require a password. The network name is “Saddle Mountain.”

 

Are there hot showers?

Guests can enjoy hot showers and access our hot water washing stations and filtered water locations conveniently located throughout the park.

 

What on-site activities are available?

Discover a host of recreational amenities at Saddle Mountain. Enjoy our swimming pool, which is heated from May through October, and our dry sauna open all year. Our children's playground is safely enclosed, has turf grass, and features a variety of toys, balls, slides, swings, and monkey bars. For some friendly competition, enjoy activities such as horseshoes, basketball, cornhole, ping pong, badminton, and board games. Our 4-mile hiking trail offers stunning vista points to explore and enjoy.

 

How far away is the nearest beach?

Carmel Beach is located approximately 8 miles or 10 minutes away. Located in downtown dog-friendly Carmel, Carmel Beach is an excellent spot for family gatherings, dates, and activities.

 

How far away is the Monterey Bay Aquarium?

The aquarium is 12 miles or 20 minutes from Saddle Mountain Ranch. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is enjoyable for all ages – kids and adults alike.

 

What other attractions are located off-site and nearby?

The area offers a wide range of activities for visitors, including shopping, wine tasting, dining at top-rated restaurants, enjoying the nightlife at local bars, prestigious golf courses, Point Lobos, visiting the historic Carmel Mission, unwinding at luxurious spas, whale watching and snorkeling excursions, and enjoying outdoor activities such as bike, kayak, and paddle board rentals. Ocean Ave offers a delightful array of shops and boutiques to explore.

 

What are your quiet hours?

Our quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am. If there are multiple noise complaints during these hours, a $100 quiet hour violation fee may be charged upon checkout. If you plan to check in late or leave early in the morning, please be considerate of others.

 

Trees & Liability

Trees and the shade they provide are an integral part of the enjoyable experience we offer at Saddle Mountain. However, healthy and well-maintained trees pose a natural hazard of falling debris, such as leaves and branches, especially during windy and/or extreme weather conditions. We do not assume responsibility for these natural hazards or for any property damage, injury, or other circumstances that may result. Please take this into consideration when parking at Saddle Mountain. If the management feels that a campsite is unsafe, we reserve the right to change the location of your accommodation to ensure your safety. In the event of extreme weather conditions forecasted, management reserves the right to cancel and reschedule the reservation to a mutually agreeable date.

 

Garbage?

To help keep the campground clean, please use the designated bins for all garbage and recycling. If you're staying in a tent, we recommend disposing of all food waste in bins away from your site to reduce odors and avoid attracting animals. You can ask for extra garbage bags if you need them. If you have a lot of garbage, please inform our team so our maintenance staff can take care of it.

 

What if I forget something?

We hope your stay with us was enjoyable. If a personal belonging is left behind in your guest room, please be assured that our housekeeping team will do their best to locate them. If we are able to identify any forgotten items, we would be happy to ship them to you at your expense. To initiate this process, you will need to contact our front desk office to provide a credit card number for the shipping costs. Please note that Saddle Mountain is not responsible for forgotten items, but we will do our best to assist you in their recovery. Lost, stolen or damaged property Saddle Mountain is not responsible for forgotten, lost, damaged, or claims to the property of guests due to fire, theft, accident, or any other cause. For maximum security, we ask guests to lock their valuables in their cars. Carmel and the neighboring areas are relatively safe communities. Saddle Mountain reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
